MBU readies campus for opening of Carl and Deloris Petty Sports and Recreation Complex

After years of anticipation, Missouri Baptist University’s new state-of-the-art sports and recreation facility is weeks away from opening.
The 47,000 square feet Carl and Deloris Petty Sports and Recreation Complex (SRC) includes a 1,000 seat gymnasium, a suspended indoor track, locker rooms, a concession area in Spartan Hall, state-of-the-art training and fitness centers, new classrooms, offices for faculty and coaching staff, and houses Missouri Baptist University's Health and Sports Sciences division.
Following is a schedule of events surrounding the SRC opening:
- A dedication for the SRC is set for Nov. 3 at 11 a.m. and is open to the public.
- MBU athletic events will begin inside the new facility the week of Oct. 31-Nov. 5.
- Tours of the SRC are set for Nov. 7.
- The Fitness Center opening and orientation are set for Nov. 14.
- Fitness classes will begin Nov. 28.
- Health and Sport Sciences classes will begin in the SRC Jan. 2012.
