A glimpse at Spartan Village
In preparation of an academic year sure to be marked with firsts, Phase One of MBU's Spartan Village recently received all occupancy permits needed for move in.
With the flair of a robust urban community, the new Spartan Village apartments include private bedrooms, kitchens, patios, and even flatscreen TVs. The new Village also provides additional green space and pedestrian walkway, providing the framework for an enhanced cohesive campus community.
The first phase will house 40 upperclassmen.
The Village's opening comes just months before the University's new Carl and Deloris Petty Sports and Recreation Complex is set to open. Slated for an October, 2011 opening, the 47,000-square-foot complex, which is located adjacent to Spartan Village on the eastern edge of the University's 68-acre campus, will include a 1,000-seat gymnasium, a suspended indoor track, an expanded training and fitness center and new classrooms and offices.
