MBU unveils new Spartan
With the start of the 2011-2012 academic year, MBU has released an updated Spartan logo, taking on a distinct look of determination and resolve.
The new logo, which sports modern features while still holding true to the rich tradition associated with MBU, maintains strong reinforcement of the University’s brand identity.
From focus groups to design, development and creation of the new logo occurred over nearly a year. St. Louis area designers consulted on the project.
The now-retired logo, which was modified subtly over the years, served the University well since its inception in the 1960s. The then-Missouri Baptist College had a handful of athletic teams and a total enrollment of 300. Today, MBU’s 23 varsity athletic teams compete in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The athletic program has won num
erous national championships and is regularly recognized for its All-American athletes.
The new design comes as the University completes its $11 million sports and recreation complex and student apartments.
Last year, more than 5,000 students system-wide attended MBU.
