Ministry Groups at MBU
Missouri Baptist University has a strong spiritual emphasis that can be seen in the lives of its students. Desperately desiring an avenue to use their talents for His glory, many MBU students choose to take part in one of several ministry groups on campus. Ministry groups are available year-round for a variety of occasions including concerts, camps, and benefit events.

MBU’s newest addition to student ministries is the acoustic women’s group, Shelter. This group specializes in concert worship and will lead various girl’s and women’s retreats. They share the acoustic sounds from artists like Watermark, Kathryn Scott, Selah, FFH, and many others.

SpiritWing has been MBU’s premier contemporary Christian vocal performance group for two decades and remains unique in its sound, sincere in their approach, and maintain a strong spiritual appeal at all levels of church life. The ensemble features 11 MBU students whose Christian commitment and passion for the lost is a source of inspiration for anyone who hears them. They desire to touch lives for Christ and are servants first, singers second.
Just as Jesus called His disciples in closer to share an intimate truth about living a real and fulfilling life; the students of Closer want to draw you in to God’s changing power through a mix of great vocals, intricate harmonies, and moving songs and testimonies. Closer blends the best of today’s Southern Gospel music, beloved classics, hymns, and other inspirational songs to share God’s message of grace and love.
