What if an MBU faculty member wants a book for their class but the MBU library does not have a copy?
Yes.
- Go to the Jung-Kellogg Library page.
- Click on MBU Online Public Access Catalog
- At the left-hand bottom of the page under Other Options, click on View Your Patron Record.
- In the Your Name box, type in your name.
- Campus I.D. box type in your Mobius I.D. number (located on the back of your Student I.D. card) without any dashes or spaces followed by a capital MBU (Example: 0000000000MBU).
- Click on Items Currently Checked-Out to view the record.

- One must have an MBU I.D. for the username and create a password.
- On the left-hand side of the Jung-Kellogg Library web page, there is a section that says Jung-Kellogg Library.
- Under Library, scroll down to “Off-Campus Database Access”.
- Click on this link.
- A log-in page will appear that says “MBU Library Remote Access”.
- Log-in by entering the MBU I.D. and personal password. (Blackboard students may use the Username and Password used for Blackboard. Students from the extension sites may use the Username and Password provided by their Site Dean or professor.)
- Click on Login.
- The Jung-Kellogg Library page will appear.
- Go to the Databases section and click on the database to be used.
- Under Find a Book click on MBU Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC), MBU’s Online Card Catalog.
- Search the OPAC by Keyword, Subject, Author, or Title.
- If a desired book title is not available through MBU’s OPAC, call the library Circulation Desk for assistance: (314) 392-2320
- All students, faculty, and staff MUST HAVE A CURRENT MBU I.D. from the I.T. Department. The I.D. allows access to campus computers and library borrowing privileges.
- Logging on to the Main Campus library computers for the first time:
- Username: Use the number under the picture on the Student I.D.
- Password: Users enter the eight character personal password that has been created.
- If a problem occurs with a personal password, contact the I.T. Department at (314) 392-2377.

I. To request a book through the Bridges cluster:
- Go to the MBU Jung-Kellogg Library page.
- Go to the section that says “Find A Book”.
- Click on Bridges Cluster Search of Nine Institutions.
- In the Quick Search section, type in the title or keywords to search for a particular item.
- If a work is in the Bridges Library Catalog, the title or list of titles will appear.
- Click on the preferred title.
- Check the availability of the title.
- If the title is available, a patron my click on the Request This Item link at the top of the page.
- On the next page, in the spaces provided, type in the patron’s name and Campus ID. (This is the MOBIUS ID on the back of the Student ID card. Type in all of the 10 numbers followed by MBU.
Example: 0000000000MBU.) - On the drop down menu, choose Missouri Baptist University as the pick-up location.
- Be sure to enter a date to “Cancel if not filled by:”
- Click “SUBMIT”.
II. To request a book from MOBIUS:
- Go to the MBU Jung-Kellogg Library page.
- Go to the section that says “Find A Book”.
- Click on MOBIUS Union Catalog.
- In the Search for section, type in the title or keywords to search for a particular item.
- If a work is in the MOBIUS Union Catalog, the title or list of titles will appear.
- Click on the preferred title.
- Click on the Display Holdings of MOBIUS Libraries link.
- Check the availability of the title.
- If the title is available, a patron my click on the Request This Item link.
- On the next page, choose “Bridges” from the drop down menu and click on “Submit above information”.
- On the next page, in the spaces provided, type in the patron’s name and Campus ID. (This is the
MOBIUS ID on the back of the Student ID card. Type in all of the 10 numbers followed by MBU.
Example: 0000000000MBU.) - On the drop down menu, choose Missouri Baptist University as the pick-up location.
- Click “SUBMIT”.
- Books may be checked out for 21 days.
- Books may be renewed twice after the initial check-out as long as there is NO HOLD on the item.
- Overdue or lost items result in substantial fines.
- Books—three weeks and may be renewed if not on HOLD.
- Periodicals—one week and may be renewed if not on HOLD. Cannot check-out the most current issue.
- Reference Works—cannot check-out; must remain in the library.
- A total of 10 items at a time
- Limit of 4 books on the same topic
- Limit of 3 periodicals the same topic
- AV materials by special permission

- If the book is in the MOBIUS Union Catalog, a list with the titles will appear.
- Click on the preferred title.
- Check the availability of the title.
- If the title is available, click on the Request link.
- On the next page, on the pull-down menu under Find Your Cluster, choose BRIDGES.
- Click on Submit Above Information.
- On the next page, type in the user’s name and the MOBIUS I.D. (The MOBIUS I.D.
is a ten digit number followed by MBU on the back of the Student I.D. card. Type in all of the
numbers including the MBU. (Example: 0000012345MBU).
- On the pull-down menu choose a pick-up location (Missouri Baptist University).
- Click on SUBMIT.

- If a faculty member needs a certain item that is not in the MBU library collection, it may be requested through MBU’s Director of Library Services, Ms. Nitsa Hindeleh.
- Contact Ms. Hindeleh at: hindeleh@mobap.edu with the correct author’s name, title, and publisher.

- Go to the Jung-Kellogg Library page.
- Click on MBU Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC).
- Go to the right-hand bottom of the page.
- Under Options click on View Reserves by Instructor
- Type in the faculty member’s name.
Or - Under Options click on View Reserves by Course Name
- Type the course name.
- If items have been properly requested to be put on Reserve, a Reserved List of items will appear.

- Include the following in the bibliographic list:
Faculty member’s name
The course number
Specify how long the items are to be on reserve
Specify how the items are to circulate—“library use only”, “overnight check-out”,
“two-day check-out”, “one-week check-out”, etc.
- Allow 24 hours for the Reserved Items to be processed before telling students that items are available on Reserve at the Circulation Desk.
- Faculty will be contacted at the end of each semester regarding the cancellation or continuation of the Reserved items.
- On Main Campus contact the Reference Librarians, Lynne Koestner or Fred McKinney at (314) 392-2340.
- For Extension Site classes, contact the Site Dean first; a library orientation will then be scheduled.
- A full semester
- If a faculty or staff member finishes with the item(s) before the check-out period expires, it is respectfully requested that the item(s) be returned for continued circulation.
- Books or AV items that enhance and improve class presentations may be ordered through the MBU library.
