National Eating Disorder Awareness

A single number never tells the whole story, but for the thousands of college students struggling with negative body image, the number on the scale can define everything: the way they look, the way they feel and how they are perceived by others.

Each year, eating disorders cause more deaths than any other mental illness. It is important to detect the signs and symptoms of these disorders early. Recovery is often a life long battle. However, early recognition and treatment increases the chances of overcoming an eating disorder.

An anonymous online mental health questionnaire is available free to all students. If you are concerned about your eating habits, weight or body image - or those of a friend just click on this link and choose the eating disorders questionnaire: http://www.mentalhealthscreening.org/screening/login.asp?keyword=MOBAP

The questionnaire is confidential and provides immediate feedback as well as information on how to get help if needed.
