The Peloponnesian E-Newsletter Archive

The Peloponnesian? What is that? And what does it have to do with Missouri Baptist University alumni?

The Missouri Baptist College yearbook was originally called The Troad, which was the home of the Trojans. In the early 70's, Missouri Baptist College quickly grew and expanded in enrollment size and the number of administrators, faculty, and buildings. The athletic program took on a new image, and the Trojans became the Spartans. The yearbook took on a new name, The Peloponnesian, which represented the home of the Spartans.

As a nod to alumni from the 70's, the e-newsletter has taken on the name of the old yearbooks.

History buffs might think of The Peloponnesian War, which pitted Athens against Sparta. This resulted in Sparta establishing itself as the leading power in Greece. Go Spartans!
